Who Are We Voting For?
We’re voting for some MAJOR leadership roles and decisions that impact our daily lives

State Attorney General – Serves as New York State’s chief lawyer, protecting residents by investigating fraud, corruption, discrimination, public safety concerns, and unfair business practices.

State Comptroller – Oversees New York State’s finances, audits government agencies, manages public pension funds, and helps ensure taxpayer money is spent responsibly.

State Senate – Creates and votes on state laws that impact everyday life across New York, including healthcare, education, housing, public safety, transportation, and voting rights.

State Assembly – Works alongside the State Senate to introduce, debate, and pass laws that affect local communities and statewide programs, services, and funding priorities.

A budget proposal is basically NYC’s financial plan.

It outlines how the city plans to spend public money — your tax dollars — on services like housing, schools, sanitation, healthcare, safety, and more.

Every year, city officials (including the Mayor and City Council) propose and vote on this plan. These decisions affect:

  • 🏫 School and youth programming

  • 🏘️ Housing developments and affordability

  • 🧠 Mental health and public health services

  • 🛠️ Street repairs, trash pickup, and transit

  • 🎨 Parks, libraries, arts, and community centers

The budget is a blueprint for what matters — and what doesn’t.
