2026 Juneteenth Open Closet

Friday, June 19th 2026 @ Weeksville Village Center Brooklyn

The Brooklyn WATE Open Closet is one of our favorite community moments of the year — where clothing, compassion, dignity, and community all come together in one space. In partnership with the Weeksville Heritage Center and Black-Owned Brooklyn’s Juneteenth Food Festival, we invite community members to stop by and “shop” our FREE clothing distribution filled with men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing, shoes, accessories, hygiene products, and goodies for the kids.

What started as a simple idea rooted in community care has grown into a beautiful tradition centered around access, respect, and showing up for one another. Now entering our third year as part of this incredible Juneteenth celebration, we are excited to continue creating a welcoming space where everyone can leave feeling supported, seen, and celebrated.

While you’re with us, take time to enjoy the Juneteenth Food Festival itself — filled with amazing food, music, culture, and incredible vendors that truly reflect the spirit, creativity, and flavor of Brooklyn community.

Bring your reusable bags, your good energy, and come experience the love with us.
