OUR COMMUNITY'S HEALTH

Things you need to know!

COVID-19 is caused by SARS-CoV-2 that has been known to  trigger a respiratory tract infection that can range from moderate-severe- to fatal when it complicates other chronic health conditions. Both upper and lower respiratory tracts can be affected.

It spreads mainly through person-to-person contact. We've put together some links that might give you additional information on COVID-19. We've also added some information where you can seek assistance. If you have information you would like us to share please send an email to info@brooklynwate.org

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) is the agency whose main goal is to present accurate information about the nation's health and protect its citizens and visitors from health, safety and security threats.

Black people in NYC are twice as likely to die from COVID as their white counterparts. Unfortunately, racial disparities have affected Black & Brown communities disproportionately due to the lack of access to testing, lack of information, and chronic co-morbidity factors. Brooklyn and the Bronx have been the two hardest hit boroughs with new infections and a higher COVID-19 fatality rate. Visit the CDC and learn more.
